Notice to Parishioners

Vacancies on Monkton Farleigh Parish Council

Following two resignations and the ability to now have 8 parish councillors (an increase from 7) on the Parish Council – there are now three vacant Parish Councillor positions available, which can be filled by co-option.

Anyone interested in joining the Parish Council is asked to submit an email letter of application to the Parish Clerk at monktonfarleighclerk@gmail.com, stating what you feel you could bring to the role as a Parish Councillor to the by 23 February 2024

Notes:

The Parish Council normally meets approximately every 6 weeks on a Wednesday at 7pm, in the Village Hall. There’s also likely to be some additional meetings during the year and an expectation that a Parish Councillor will also contribute to projects that the Parish Council is undertaking.

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and a British subject or a citizen of the Commonwealth or European Union and must satisfy at least one of the following:

  • be a local government elector for the Parish of Monkton Farleigh.
  • have, during the whole of the previous 12 months, occupied land, or other property in the parish, either as owner or tenant.
  • have, during the whole of the previous 12 months, had your principal or only place of work in the parish.
  • have resided in the parish during the whole of the previous 12 months
